To celebrate the recent Supreme Court decision upholding our Second Amendment rights, I bought a Springfield Armory 1911 Mil Spec .45 semi-auto. This particular gun is one of those hard to find Mil Specs that was machined and finished in the Geneseo factory. Most are made in Brazil. The gunshop owner was unaware of this guns pedigree so the deal was sweet, he even threw in a $20 box of bullets. The "1911" is a classic with a rich history, a true American cultural icon and the centerpiece of many collections. I'm one lucky bastard to find this gun.
Like I told the wife, guns are an investment and essentially free. You see, if you buy a quality piece and keep it a few years, it can always be sold for at least what you paid. She remains skeptical.
