Bring The Weenies!!

The Ham Lake fire has been raging for the past 10 days consuming 60,000 acres, destroying cabins, lodges and outfitters in it's wake. It's one of the worst fires in NE Minnesota since 1918 and is only 25% contained at this point. Depending on the wind we may encounter some smoke on Basswood and Ensign Lakes during our annual May trip. However, the entire B-dub is drier than a Sadr City sauna and the entire area could become an inferno at any time. On a positive note, I may be able to pick up a used Kevlar canoe dirt cheap.

looks familiar! Driving back from St Pete yesterday, to Naples, in and around Cape Coral, Punta Gorda, etc the smoke was so thick from Florida's fires that it hurt my eyes, and dropped visibility to about a mile, really bad. Record draught in S. Florida, water rationing, most palm trees here are getting brown and slowly dying.
