Thirty Pound Carps

Yesterday I took the Lund out on the Illinois River mainly to exercise my Johnson and then decided to see if I could catch a few cats. As soon as I tossed out my lines chaos ensued. The old Zebcos started singing with twin carps smackin' the crawlers. It took me well over 30 minutes to land these ugly bastards. I measured one at 29.5 pounds, the other fish looked to be about the same. There are over 120 species of fish in the Illinois so it's always a crap shoot or should I say "carp shoot".
