Just got back from the BWCA. They had the earliest "ice out" on record, near record low water levels and extremely warm weather this spring. This all added up to very poor walleye fishing. I did manage to boat a fat 25 incher and a number of eaters but overall it sucked. Smallmouth and northerns were hitting well but no trophies. We got caught in a huge thunder and lighting storm on Basswood Lake one evening and had to beach the boat and hunker down for a half hour. Shortly afterwards the motor busted. With wind gusting to 50 mph and torrential rains our buddy had to tow us to the portage. It was an adventure I could've done without.

Global Warming?

glad you are ok! hey-- my neighbor down the street tells me next time you should stay at his family's lodge. he was spinnin' some yarns, but i think he's for real.
