War Hero?

Lacking any viable plan for the future of this great nation, John McCain and his base rally around his 40 year old military record to reiterate his qualification to be President. Even the Democrats haven't challenged his legend as a “war hero” but here is the unvarnised, unspun truth. John McCain managed to graduate from high school as your typical smart ass under-achiever and got into the Naval Academy because of his father and grandfather's military rank. While at the Academy he persisted in his grabass ways and eked out a diploma, graduating in the bottom 5 of his class. Shortly thereafter he crashed his first of 5 multi-million dollar planes into Corpus Christi Bay and almost died because he hadn't read the manual and couldn't locate the button to release the canopy. While on his famous bombing mission over North Vietnam he managed to get lost despite having the most sophisticated navigation equipment available at the time and was easily shot down. During his captivity he signed a document denouncing the United States of America as war criminals and attempted suicide on 2 occasions. This geezer is in no way a war hero and I figure he owes the American taxpayer at least $50 million dollars for his “education” and the crashed planes caused by his incompetence as a pilot.
