In 1984 I decided to be a rebel biker dude in an effort to escape my boring cliche of a life as a middle class white professional suburbanite. I couldn't afford a Harley and found a Honda Shadow 700cc V-twin cruiser that fit the fantasy I was desperately seeking for a mere $2500. Well the 'ol girl is now in need of some major mechanical intervention. She starts but barely idles and promptly dies when any throttle is applied. The hydraulic clutch is completely f'd up and the thermostat appears to be stuck shut, she spews coolant at operating temperature like a pissing pig. At the moment she is in parts and pieces scattered about the "shop". I'm not much of a mechanic so whether or not I can resurrect her from this condition is a crapshoot. Hopefully I can return her to an operational state so I can continue this "Born To Be Wild" lifestyle.Monday, March 20, 2006
My Shadow Rehab Project
